## About the Programs

Our Nutrition and Lactation programs are staffed by registered dietitians and lactation consultants who are available in all 50 states.  We provide appointment availability year-round, Monday through Friday, and some evenings and weekends.  Our providers are credentialed and trained to handle telehealth visits from clients across the country.

### What to Expect

**Nutrition Program**

- Initial and follow-up 30-minute visits with patients
- Patients brought to you from our employers, health plans, and health system partners
- Access to our Amwell Medical Group (AMG) nutrition resources which includes meal plans, recipes, and healthy eating/exercise tips
- Ability to communicate securely with patients between visits if needed

Common conditions and patient situations:

- Weight management
- Heart health
- Pre-diabetes/Diabetes
- Digestive disorders
- Pre-natal/postpartum nutrition
- General wellness

**Lactation Program**

- 50-minute initial visits and 25-minute follow-up visits with patients
- Patients brought to you from our employers, health plans, and health system partners
- Access to our Amwell Medical Group (AMG) lactation resources
- Ability to communicate securely with patients between visits if needed

Common breastfeeding issues our lactation consultant's address:

- Latching issues
- Milk supply
- Breast tenderness
- Persistently hungry baby
- Returning to work
- Pumping
- Plugged milk ducts
- Weaning

### Your Qualifications

**Nutrition Program**

- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in nutrition or dietetics
- Completed Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Undergraduate Program from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Documentation of current status as Registered Dietitian
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of weight management counseling experience a plus
- Laptop with camera, and home office or quiet area to provide confidential nutrition counseling

**Lactation Program**

- Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and in good standing with the board.
- Medicaid/Medicaid eligible
- Laptop with camera, and home office or quiet area to provide confidential lactation counseling
